Voices Against Violence can help individuals who are victims of crime. This includes hotline, emergency shelter, case management, counseling, legal advocacy.
SCCAP - Self Help Housing Program
The Self-Help Housing program helps income-eligible families become homeowners by allowing them to build their own homes alongside other families with professional supervision. By contributing “sweat equity” through weekly labor, families can avoid a down payment, receive subsidized low-interest mortgages, and gain significant instant equity. The program makes homeownership more affordable while building skills, stability, and long-term financial security for participating families.
SCCAP - Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
LIHEAP helps eligible households pay winter heating costs by providing a one-time seasonal payment directly to their primary heating utility. Available primarily from November through March, the program reduces the risk of utility shutoffs and helps families stay warm during colder months. Applications are accessible by phone, email, mail, or in person, making assistance easier to obtain, with crisis funding sometimes available outside the regular season.
SCCAP - Weatherization Assistance
This Weatherization program helps income-eligible families lower heating and cooling costs by improving home energy efficiency while prioritizing health and safety. Services are customized to each home and may include safety inspections, heating system repairs, air-sealing, insulation, and necessary home repairs. By making homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer, the program improves health outcomes—especially for children, older adults, and people with disabilities—leading to better school attendance for children and reduced medical and care costs for seniors.
